Individual Smart Brief

I will be creating a teenage magazine aimed at girls from the ages of 14 to 19. I will be creating a front cover and a double page spread. I will use my market research and prior knowledge to create a successful magazine.
My personal targets and what I will aim to achieve whilst creating the female teenage magazine. I will be taking photos, the criteria to making the magazine is by having three individual photos taken ourselves. I will also be responsible of researching stories so that I will be able to create a successful story for my double page spread etc. I will also be designing a front cover and deciding on layout, colours and fonts to use on my front cover and double page spread. These are achievable because I will be responsible for exactly what my targets are which are: taking photos, researching stories, designing a front cover, choosing colours and fonts and deciding on layout. These targets are realistic, as I already know how to use a camera and a computer effectively, how to design front covers successfully and choose successful layouts. I am also able to take good photographs that look professional and are interesting. I am also able to research effectively and have designed a small magazine previously. Joelle Morrison, my partner will be responsible for the same things as I; which are: taking photos, researching stories, designing a front cover and deciding on layout, colours and fonts. I hope to gain the following skills such as being able to research more accurately in a more efficient way, making more diplomatic decisions, gaining yet more team skills and more experience in photography and I also help to gain more experience in how to design correctly, effectively and efficiently.
The deadline that I will be giving myself to complete the magazine double page spread (article) will be the 9th November 2007, this will not necessary include images. The images will be taken throughout the weeks whilst the magazine is being created. The images taken for the double page spread will be in black and white to emphasise that the article is about racism. The 23rd of November will be my personal deadline to complete my front cover. These targets will mean that once I have completed them I can refine and improve the front cover and double page spread and begin my write up so that by the 14th December I will have completed my double page spread and front cover to look like a professional teenage magazine.
I hope to finish my part of the magazine and the write up by the 14th December 2007. I hope to have achieved a successful and professional magazine that targets the female teenage audience effectively.
